Tournaments and brackets
What happens when the number of players is not a power of two?
Beleeg places byes automatically. With five players in single elimination, one player skips round one and the other four play; the bracket stays balanced without you doing anything.
- 1Brackets are built on powers of two: 4, 8, 16, 32. With any other count, the generator adds byes to fill the first round.
- 2A bye is a free pass to the next round. It is shown on the bracket as the player waiting in round two.
- 3Byes are placed so the first round stays balanced; nobody gets two.
- 4Round robin has no byes; with an odd number of entrants one person sits out each round instead.
