Beleeg vs SportsEngine
By Michael Montalbano, founder of Beleeg · Last updated
Beleeg is built for running the league itself: the season schedule, scores, standings, captain lineups, and sign-ups, free for the organizer. SportsEngine, part of NBC Sports, is built for youth sports clubs and organizations that need a full website, registration, and a team app.
If you run an adult, club, or racquet league and want it simple, Beleeg is the easier fit, and we move your league over for you. If your youth club needs a large website and store apps available today, SportsEngine is built for that. Beleeg’s iOS app is awaiting Apple review.

Beleeg or SportsEngine: who should pick which
Pick Beleeg to run an adult, club, or racquet league simply and for free; pick SportsEngine when a youth club wants a large website and store apps available today; Beleeg’s iOS app is awaiting Apple review.
Pick Beleeg if
- You run an adult, club, or rec league and want the schedule, scores, and standings to run themselves.
- Your league plays court by court and captains set lineups each week.
- You want it free for the organizer, with a flat $3 kept only from online payments.
- You want someone to move your league in for you.
When SportsEngine is the better fit
- You run a youth club that needs a full website with many pages, news, and sponsors. Beleeg gives each league a public page, not a full website.
- You need an App Store or Google Play download today. Beleeg’s iOS app is awaiting Apple review; the web app is available now.
Who Beleeg is for, and who it isn’t for
Beleeg is for adults who run amateur leagues and tournaments. If your league needs youth-sports checks, facility rentals, or ticket sales, another tool will serve you better.
Beleeg is for
- Adult and amateur rec leagues and clubs: tennis, pickleball, platform tennis, padel, squash, softball, bowling, darts, pool, cornhole, and more, 30 sports in all.
- Commissioners already running a league on a spreadsheet, a group text, or an older tool, who want the schedule, scores, standings, and dues in one place. We move your league over for you.
- Clubs that run several leagues, divisions, or seasons under one name.
- Tournament hosts. Brackets are free, with or without a league.
Beleeg is not the right fit for
- Youth sports programs that need background checks, SafeSport training records, or parent and guardian accounts. Beleeg is made for adults and does not run or track any of these.
- Large parks and recreation departments that need to rent out fields and courts by the hour across many sites. Beleeg schedules league games; it does not book facilities or take court rentals.
- Pro and semi-pro teams selling tickets to fans. Beleeg can take payment for a club event with a set number of spots, but it has no seat maps or box office.
- Leagues that need Swiss brackets.
- You need an App Store or Google Play download today. Beleeg’s iOS app is awaiting Apple review; the web app is available now.
Questions people ask about Beleeg and SportsEngine
Is Beleeg a SportsEngine alternative?
For running a league, yes: schedule, scores, standings, captain lineups, sign-ups and payments, chat, and a public league page, free for the organizer. For a youth club that wants a large website, SportsEngine is built for that job.
What does Beleeg cost?
Nothing for organizers: $0 a month and $0 a season. When a player registers and pays online, the player pays the fee you set and Beleeg keeps a flat $3 from it; leagues that collect cash pay nothing. The White-label plan, which adds your own web address and your brand on emails, is $149 a season.
Can you move my league over from SportsEngine?
Yes. Export your teams, players, and schedule from SportsEngine as a spreadsheet, send it to us, and we run the first import into Beleeg for you. Scores already played do not carry over, so start the standings from where you are.
Do my players need to download an app?
No. Beleeg works in the web browser on iPhone, Android, and computers with no download required. The iOS app has been submitted to Apple and is awaiting review. The public league page, with schedule and standings, needs no login at all.
